GuineAid

GuineAid Project, in collaboration with Hospitals Donka and Ignace Deen of Conakry, capital of the Republic of Guinea, has been realized from 2007 to 2009, thanks to the funding of FOGUIRED (Guinean-Italian Fund for  the Redemption of Debt).

The educational activity, with the participation of 20 between doctors and nurses from the 2 Guinean hospitals, was about the following subjects: emergency surgery and medicine, paediatrics, gynaecology and obstetrics, radiology and it was structured in two sessions in Naples, in which, for a period of 21 days each, the guest teams assisted to the activities held in the hospital departments to improve all the techniques to be  applied later in Guinea.
The training proposed was supplemented with workshops about cardiopulmonary resuscitation in paediatrics and in the adult, about malnutrition and the importance of breast-feeding, web surfing and the usage of databases.
The material for distance education, used as support for the transfer and dissemination in Guinea of acquired know-how, has been elaborated during the sessions held in Naples.
